Dale Greene
I was born in Magnolia, Arkansas and was raised in the piney woods and oil patch of north Louisiana, south Arkansas, and east Texas. My parents are devout Christians and I was raised in a home where the foundation of our family was the church. I earned my B.S.F. in forestry at LSU, my M.S. in forestry at Virginia Tech, and a Ph.D. in forestry at Auburn University.
My wife, Jeanna Wilson, is a poultry science professor here at Georgia. We have made our home in Athens since 1986. We have a son, Tom, who is an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. As a family we enjoy fishing, camping, and sports.
We worship at Athens First United Methodist Church where both Jeanna and I are active in the children and youth Sunday School programs. We are also active in the Athens Area Emmaus Community. I also co-lead a Disciple Bible Study class each week. Athens is blessed with many strong faith communities both on and off campus and we are continually strengthened by these groups.
