Thomas Mulligan
Dr. Mulligan is Professor of Aging and Medicine at the University of Florida
Biographical Information
Dr Mulligan grew up as a non-Christian. He graduated cum laude from New York University in 1976, receiving the Founder’s Day Award. He earned his MD degree from New York University in 1980. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University, receiving the Intern of the Year Award in 1981 and the Higgins Award for excellence in medical education in 1983.
In 1984, he finally saw the light. By God’s grace and through the perseverance of his believing wife, he accepted Christ as his savior in October, 1984. Since then, he has tried to integrate his faith into his daily life. Dr Mulligan is certified by the ABIM in Internal Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics Medicine. He is a member of the Association for Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
His clinical and research interests include older men’s health (e.g., age-associated hypogonadism, sexual dysfunction) and the impact of religion on health. He has published approximately 100 articles, book chapters, and reviews. He has presented his work at national meetings, and he has given approximately 200 invited lectures across the US.
