Norman E Schmidt

Dr. Norman Schmidt is Associate Professor of Chemistry at Georgia Southern Unviersity, Statesboro, Georgia. His primary duties include teaching and performing research with undergraduate students.
BS in Chemistry and Physics, Bethel College, Kansas, 1984.

PhD in Analytical Chemistry, University of South Carolina, 1989.
I was born and grew up in Kansas. Although my family went to church every Sunday it wasn’t the most important thing in my life. I accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 13 years old. However, I still didn’t have the close relationship that I was searching for. I have always known more about the Bible than most of my peers, but it isn’t knowledge that saves.

When I graduated from college and moved to graduate school I was 1200 miles from anyone that I knew and the Lord used this to draw me closer to Him. I started reading my Bible every day (morning and evening). I also began sharing my faith with others.

Today, Jesus is more real to me than ever before. He is my friend and gives me strength and guidance every day.
